Florida Propane Appliance Rebates: Switch or Upgrade in Miami-Dade & Broward

Thinking about replacing an aging water heater, upgrading your kitchen range, or switching an electric appliance to propane? Homeowners in Miami-Dade and Broward may qualify for rebates through the Propane Education Foundation of Florida (PEFF) Residential Propane Gas Appliance Consumer Rebate Program.
The 2025–2026 application lists rebates from $100 to $500 per eligible appliance. It covers electric-to-propane changes, new propane appliances, and replacement propane appliances. Eligibility, documentation, installation requirements, and available funding all matter.
Program timing: This application covers December 1, 2025, through November 30, 2026, or until funds are depleted, whichever comes first. Amounts may change without notice. Contact Sungas before purchasing or scheduling work to confirm the applicable program and remaining funding. A rebate is not guaranteed.
What appliance rebates does the form list?
The uploaded 2025–2026 PEFF form lists the same amount for each of its three categories: switching from electric to propane, adding a new propane appliance, and replacing an existing propane appliance.
Water heater: $350.
Range or stove: $250.
Clothes dryer: $150.
Gas fireplace: $200.
Gas grill: $200, with special piping and dealer-sale requirements.
Central furnace: $500.
Space heater: $100.
For example, an eligible water heater, range, and dryer together represent $750 in listed rebates. Each appliance must qualify independently, and payment remains subject to approval and available funds. The form limits rebates to one per appliance type per address.

Can I receive a rebate for switching from electric to propane?
Yes. Electric-to-propane appliances are specifically included in the application. If you are considering a propane water heater, cooking range, or dryer, discuss the entire project with a qualified propane professional before choosing equipment.
Ask for a review of the propane supply, tank and piping needs, appliance compatibility, ventilation requirements where applicable, permits, and installation costs. Compare the full installed cost and expected operating costs for your home. The rebate alone does not establish how much the project will save.
This is a residential propane program. Natural gas utility rebates are separate offers with their own requirements.
Already using propane? Replacement appliances may qualify
You do not have to switch from electricity to be considered. The form also includes new propane appliances and propane appliance replacements. That can make the program relevant when replacing an older unit or adding another propane appliance to your home.
Only newly purchased appliances installed at the residential address on the application qualify under the form. Used, rebuilt, and refurbished appliances are excluded. Installing piping or a stub-out without an eligible installed appliance does not qualify.
Does a new propane grill qualify?
The form lists a $200 gas grill rebate, but the grill must be piped in with no removable tank or container. It must also be sold by a propane dealer licensed with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
A portable grill connected to a removable BBQ cylinder does not meet those stated conditions. Confirm the planned grill purchase and installation before relying on the rebate.
How to prepare a rebate application
Contact Sungas before you buy. Share your residential address, proposed appliance, and whether the project is an electric-to-propane switch, a new appliance, or a replacement. Confirm current funding and dealer participation.
Keep an itemized purchase receipt for each appliance. The application requires itemized receipts rather than an undocumented purchase total.
Arrange a code-compliant installation. The form requires compliance with applicable local, state, and national codes and dealer approval or sign-off.
Keep a signed work order showing the appliance model number and serial number. Include the purchase and installation dates and customer contact information on the application.
Have a licensed propane dealer submit the completed application. The form requires submission by a Florida-licensed propane dealer; it is not a customer-only submission process.
Do not miss the installation and program deadlines
The form specifies submission within 60 days of installation for existing homes and 90 days for new homes. The program also ends November 30, 2026, or earlier if funding is exhausted. Do not assume the 60- or 90-day window extends the program beyond its closing date; confirm timing with the program administrator before proceeding.
Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, and reimbursement is not issued until all program requirements are met.
How is the rebate paid?
The application states that rebate payment must go to the customer. It also includes a separate optional authorization for a participating dealer to receive the rebate and credit the customer's propane account for requested propane, related services, or materials. Dealer participation is voluntary. Confirm the payment arrangement before signing; an account credit is not automatic.
Frequently asked questions
Can I apply for more than one appliance?
The form limits rebates to one per appliance type per address. Different eligible appliance types may be included, with the required documentation for each and subject to available funding.
Are generators or pool heaters included?
Generators and pool heaters are not listed in this 2025–2026 PEFF application. Do not assume they qualify under this particular offer.
Can I apply for an appliance I bought elsewhere?
The optional account-credit authorization anticipates appliances purchased elsewhere when the customer provides the required itemized receipts and model and serial numbers. Dealer participation and the other program rules still apply. Grills have an additional requirement: sale by a Florida-licensed propane dealer.
Is this a tax credit or an instant discount?
This article describes the PEFF rebate application, not a tax credit. The form does not promise an instant purchase discount. Confirm eligibility, funding, and payment handling before counting a rebate toward your project budget.
